Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts

Expansion in Asia continues

Mid-May Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts took over management of The Palm Beach Club hotel, which now operates under the new name Mövenpick Residences Laguna Beach Phuket.

The new Mövenpick is located on Bang Tao Beach, one of Phuket Island’s most pristine beaches and hugely popular with golfers. Phuket Airport and several top-class golf courses such as the Blue Canyon Country Club and the Laguna Phuket Golf Club are just a 20-minute drive from the hotel. The new resort features 39 residences, including comfortable penthouses and suites boasting two and three bedrooms, combining Thai and contemporary design. The rooms offer spacious balconies and some also have a private pool or Jacuzzi. Guests can choose between a variety of leisure and entertainment facilities, among them an extensive swimming pool set in tropical gardens, a host of dining possibilities and a modern fitness centre. Since 2010 Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in Asia beyond Thailand und Vietnam and announced new developments in China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India.

The recent openings of the Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa in Singapore and the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Cebu on the Philippines are signs of the expansion plans with which the hotel company, whose home is in Switzerland, is pushing ahead in Asia.
