The international network Site Global – Society of Incentive & Travel Executives – has chosen Berlin to host its European conference, the EMEA Forum. This takes place from June 18 to 20, 2012 at the ICC Berlin.
The organisers are looking to pair with the 1st Capital City Congress geared to German congress and event planners. It is being held at the same time and is designed to heighten political awareness of the meetings industry. Five hundred participants from meetings industry associations are expected.
Heike Mahmoud, head of the Berlin Convention Office at visitBerlin: “We welcome Site Global’s decision, which will enable delegates at both events to network. What’s more, Site members from all over the world will be travelling to the German capital, giving us a unique opportunity to showcase Berlin and its exceptional programmes and venues.”
The capital’s new airport BER is of huge interest to Site members. Its inauguration on June 3, 2012 will further increase the long-haul connections available, making Berlin even more attractive for international incentive and event organisers. For years now, the Berlin Convention Office at visitBerlin has worked closely with Site Global. One joint project is the new online tool “BerlinCentives” at www.convention.visitBerlin.de. This offers organisers quick and free-of-charge access to out of the ordinary, motivational Berlin experiences. Further information on the event is available online at www.site-germany.de.
