Trade fair and conference management company Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress-GmbH (KMK) and the UITP - International Association of Public Transport headquartered in Brussels have signed a cooperation agreement under which KMK will act as the German agent for the association's next two world congresses and exhibitions.
These are the 60th World Congress, which will take place May 26 to 30, 2013 in Geneva under the title UITP Mobility & City Transport Exhibition and the 61st edition of the top-level industry gathering 2015 inMilan. KMK has been instructed to solicit German exhibitors for these two events. "We are delighted that our internationally operative partner, the UITP, is relying on our expertise by commissioning us to act as the agent inGermany for its world congresses. It is a genuine mark of the association's confidence in us and a further milestone in our longstanding partnership," KMK managing director Britta Wirtz said.
The UITP organises the world congresses around the themes mobility and public passenger transport every two years in different locations. The last World Congress 2011 inDubaidrew more than 2,000 conference-goers from 80 nations. Another 9,700 visitors travelled to the trade exhibition, at which 252 exhibitors from 37 countries presented their products and services.
The partnership between KMK and the UITP was launched some five years ago for the joint organisation of IT-TRANS, International Conference and Exhibition on IT Solutions for Public Transport, inKarlsruhe. The third IT-TRANS will take place February 15 to 17, 2012 at the exhibition centre inKarlsruhe. Exhibitors there will already be told about the UITP world congresses. A specially installed booking room will enable them to register straightaway for the trade fair.
