The new expo center for the Greater Berlin area has been completed in record time; it is situated immediately next to the BER international airport still under construction. ThisBerlinExpoCenterAirportis a versatile exposition and event-staging facility with three permanently installed expo halls with an overall size in excess of 20,000 sqms as well as space capacities for open-air presentations, temporary expo structures and service facilities.
This is MesseBerlin's second complex in the Greater Berlin region in addition to their traditional urban siteBerlinExpoCenterCityam Berliner Funkturm. Preparatory work for building facilities for the International Aerospace Exhibition ILA has already begun on the new expo grounds. The Berlin Air Show 2012 will be staged here from September 11 through 16 as the leading annual event in the European aerospace industry. In January 2013, the new fashion fair PANORAMABerlinwill have its premiere at theBerlinFashion Week.

Messeimmobilien Selchow GmbH (MIS) was founded on November 10, 2010 for construction of the facilities. Its shareholders are Messe Berlin GmbH and ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg (ZAB) holding 50% of shares each. MIS has invested approximately EUR 27 million into development of the new expo grounds. In addition, MesseBerlinspent another EUR 16 million for erection of the three permanent expo halls. Based on a shareholder resolution passed on May 16, 2012, Messeimmobilien Selchow GmbH was renamed ExpoCenter Airport Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (ECA). ECA has transferred its legal domicile to the new expo grounds.
