Meeting planners discover The Beach of Amsterdam

Doing business fast among the flowers

A visit to Keukenhof and Space Expo, a ‘flower lunch’, surf rafting and out to sea in a rigid inflatable boat: last week Noordwijk Marketing pulled out all the stops to introduce 17 meeting planners from Germany and Britain to Noordwijk, the Beach of Amsterdam, as a conference destination. The annual Fam Trip was organised from 23 to 25 March, with ‘flowers’ as its theme. It was a unique opportunity to introduce influential business planners to Noordwijk.

Sandra Nonhebel, MICE Manager: “No matter how much we write about or describe our destination, to attract international conferences and meetings to Noordwijk it’s vital that we let corporate meeting planners and intermediaries experience it for themselves. So we worked alongside our partners to put together a fantastic programme for our guests, to stimulate all their senses. A weekend packed with activities like this creates a personal bond with the guests, and impresses them with just what we have to offer and the unique collaboration between our partners. I’m absolutely certain this familiarisation trip will produce great inquiries and bookings.”
Noordwijk is an ideal operational base for a conference for many international meeting planners. That’s thanks to the presence of the many (conference) hotels, the opportunities the area offers for team-building among other things, and the short distance to travel to Amsterdam and Schiphol. It’s also unique that so many more or less competing hotels and companies want to work together on large-scale conferences which need plenty of beds and conference rooms.
