Relax or work while waiting

New oasis of comfort at Munich Airport

In the new Recreation Area on the Non-Schengen level at Munich Airport’s Terminal 2, leisure and business travellers waiting for their flight to depart can now while away their time in a very congenial way. On a 300 m² area in the vicinity of Gates H31 to H34 the Terminal 2 Gesellschaft – a joint subsidiary of airport operator Flughafen München GmbH and Lufthansa German Airlines – has partnered with furniture manufacturers Vitra to provide attractive relaxation and working facilities for passengers. The new oasis of comfort was officially opened on November 29 by the two Terminal 2 Gesellschaft managing directors, Christian Wallner and Marc Stadtlander.

The redesigned waiting area is available free of charge to all travellers. Comfortable seats and lounges are perfect for reading or simply to unwind. Plants and special lighting effects enhance the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere there. Meanwhile, passengers are kept up to date on their flight status. A total of 25 desks in all are equipped with their own power outlet for laptops, mobile phones and the like.
Passengers facing the prospect of a lengthier stopover can also avail themselves of one of the “napcabs” in use for years now at Terminal 2. Four extra sleeping cabins have been placed at the northern end of the Recreation Area. Further details on the napcab service, for which a charge is made, are available at www.munich-airport.de/de/consumer/aufenthalt_trans/hotels/napcabs/index.jsp.
