Important news for professionals who organize events, represent hotels, venues or destinations and provide services: the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC), one of the main international event sustainability certifications for the meetings & events industry, becomes available for the first time in Europe.

Relaunched by the Events Industry Council the SEPC credential will debut in Europe from December 2 to 4 at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo on the initiative of both Miek Egberts’, Owner, InspireME Monte-Carlo and Claudia van't Hullenaar, Founder, Sustained Impact. Both Miek and Claudia are committed to sustainable development, helping organizations develop strategic solutions and integrate responsible business approaches in events and businesses.

The two-day training course, aimed at corporate, independent and third-party eventorganizers, services/venue suppliers as well as anyone interested in sustainability in events, and led by Mariela McIlwraith provides insights and active learning to enable participants to implement their own sustainable events. Topics will include understanding the business value of sustainability, learn sustainable design methods and techniques as well as about international sustainable event standards and measurement and reporting methodologies. At the end of the courses, the participants will be recognized with the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC). The course is eligible for eight hours of Continuing Education Credits towards the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) application or recertification. This program is supported by Visit Monaco, Fairmont Monte-Carlo and Columbus
