Art Basel postponed

Exhibition expecting broad international participation

Moved from summer to early autumn: The world's most important art show Art Basel will not take place until September. The pandemic and global travel restrictions are the reason for the postponement, MCH Group announced. The 2021 edition of Art Basel will now be held from September 23 to 26, 2021 at Messe Basel, with preview days on September 21 and 22, 2021.
„We anticipate broad international participation in our Basel show in September“
Marc Spiegler, Global Director, Art Basel
Marc Spiegler, Global Director, Art Basel: "Following ten months of vaccination programmes in many countries, we anticipate broad international participation in our Basel show in September, because all our conversations within the artworld indicate a strong desire to see art in person and engage face-to-face with the global cultural scene." The digital activities will continue. In 2021, Art Basel will present three Online Viewing Rooms, to which all galleries accepted to Art Basel's shows between 2016 and 2021 will be invited to apply.
