Informa has announced that it has strengthened its position in the specialist B2B Foodservice market through the acquisition of the information services company Winsight. Winsight's initial enterprise value is said to be $380 million and to have been funded entirely in cash.
According to Informa, the addition enhances group earnings: In 2023, Winsight full year revenues are expected to be around $100m with an EBITDA of over $35m. With Winsight Informa is set to establish another scale B2B business with category leadership, international reach and multi-service B2B offering. Winsight provides a range of specialist B2B services to the $3 trillion food services industry, including the flagship National Restaurant Association Show.

Furthermore, Winsight provides specialist food services data and insights, including the largest historic food service dataset through Technomic. It also owns a range of specialist media brands and proprietary digital media platforms.
Informa reports that it has been building a position within the broader food and food service market for some time. Within Informa Connect, Informa owns and operates the leading B2B Event for the U.S. catering industry (Catersource) alongside several other specialist B2B events (CREATE).
