The Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) closed the last fiscal year with 473,210 attendees and a total of 122 events hosted, which is up 8.9% from the previous year and an all-time record, far surpassing the previous record of 113 events in 2014. Likewise, the CCIB revenue hit €33.35 M, the third best figure since it was inaugurated in 2004. Director General Marc Rodríguez says, “We consider these figures highly satisfactory and we reaffirm our commitment to a management model clearly focused on the quality of our services and the satisfaction of our clients.” The number of recurring events continued to increase in 2017, hitting 50% of the total and 58.35% of revenue, a figure that shows the further strengthened trust of organisers. Plus, in line with previous years, international events made up 42% of the total for the year and 87.7% of overall revenue. These two factors show a solid upward trend for the coming years. www.ccib.es
