IFEMA MADRID and SERVIS have won the Silver Emporia Award in the category "Best construction for an event". The recognition comes from Veredictas, an organisation that manages standards of excellence, which has acknowledged the work that took place to produce the NATO Summit held in 2022.
The Emporia Award is certified by Veredictas International. The organisation valued the overall project management of the event, its design, document management of plans, production, lighting, sound, video, translation, assembly and logistics.
The complex project was developed on behalf of the Spanish Government, under the strict requirements of NATO. The two-day event was held in a 50,000-square-metre area, in Halls 12, 14 and 14.1 of the IFEMA MADRID Recinto Ferial, strategic locations where the high-level meetings of the Summit took place in June 2022, in addition to housing an impressive International Press Centre, with an additional 100,000 square metres of the Exhibition Centre used for a Security Coordination Centre, access control, catering areas, etc.
It involved the participation of 1,200 employees of IFEMA MADRID, SERVIS and the other collaborating companies in a production that required the installation of 50,000 square metres of carpet, 83,000 linear metres of cable for communications connections, and 30,000 metres of electrical cabling.
