Consolidation: “Two become one” seems to be the norm in this sector, with Nürnberg-based fair MT Connect merging with Medtec Europe, a UBM-organised event held in Stuttgart, in 2018, to form the new event Medtec Live, which runs in Nuremberg. Stuttgart exhibition organisers “hit back” by launching the event T4M - Technology for Medical Devices.
The race between Erlangen-based Medical Valley and Stuttgart/Tuttlingen-based Medical Mountains has now been decided, with the Erlangen-based cluster taking the win: the Stuttgart-based T4M show has been taken over by Medtec Live GmbH, a subsidiary of exhibition company NürnbergMesse. The Solomonic outcome is that the Medtec Live with T4M show will now alternate between Nuremberg and Stuttgart. According to the information published in the official press release, this is trade fair companies’ joint response to the demand from the medical technology market for a single, central European springtime event in southern Germany that incorporates both Stuttgart/Tuttlingen and Nuremberg/Erlangen, equally important medtech locations in the south of Germany.
Details on the first edition of Medtec Live with T4M in Stuttgart as well as the official announcement of the new trade fair concept are scheduled for autumn 2021. The first edition will run from May 3 to 5, 2022 at Messe Stuttgart Hall 9, parallel to Control, the international quality assurance show organised by P.E.Schall. In 2023 Medtec Live will open its doors at Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, returning to Stuttgart in 2024.www.medteclive.com/2021-medteclive-with-t4m-alternates-between-stuttgart-and-nuremberg
