The music fair will now not be held concurrently with the Frankfurt book fair in autumn 2021 and not return until spring 2022. Messe Frankfurt
is planning dates closer to Prolight + Sound
in April. Musikmesse Frankfurt will continue to be committed to its brand essence, the promotion of active music-making. This will be emphasised more – and the "evolutionary path from a product show to a comprehensive event for the music scene and all music enthusiasts, which focuses on music itself, is to be consistently pursued", was how the event managers put it.
This year will remain quiet in Frankfurt: the current general conditions do not permit this interactive concept, which is aimed at beginners, professionals, children and families alike. "More than any other sector, music thrives on intensive personal exchange, from joint concert experiences to instrumental workshops. In this way, we hope to be able to create a realistic perspective for all those involved next year", says Stephan Kurzawski, member of the board of management of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition.
„We hope to be able to create a realistic perspective for all those involved next year. “
In the coming months, Messe Frankfurt will be discussing viable options with the music industry, as to how Europe's largest trade fair for the music industry can meet the situational needs of all stakeholder groups even better.
