IBTM Americas: Humanizing events

The 11th edition of IBTM Americas 2021 will take place face-to-face on August 18 and 19 at Centro Citibanamex Mexico City and is expected to be the event that reconnects and revives business in the meetings industry in Mexico and Latin America. Under the concept ‘Humanizing events’, IBTM Americas aims to provide a platform for meetings and events professionals to connect with partners and colleagues.

IBTM Americas 2021 will be a special edition with around 2,000 people expected to attend over the two-day event and 350 exhibitor and co-exhibitor companies with a stand or pavilion. Exhibitors will attend primarily from North America, Mexico, Latin America, as well as destinations in Europe and Asia. Also, international destinations, including several first-time exhibitors, have been confirmed. Spain will join with its main convention bureaus. Argentina, Korea, and Japan have signed up, as well as cities from the United States including New York. Peru will be the guest country and will present its tourism offer to the meetings industry.

The education program will include seven special congresses: The Romance Congress, Pharma Congress, Sustainable Events Interactive Forum, Event Design Hybrid Conference, DMOs Day, third MPI International Hispanic Forum and the first DMCs Latin American Congress. In addition, there will be around 40 conferences delivered by speakers of different fields including pharma, marketing, finance or tourism.

“As always, we will have the strong intention of doing business, with more than 7,000 pre-scheduled appointments booked and we expect to achieve business opportunities of nearly $1,000 million. In addition, we will contribute to Mexico City with more than 4,000 room nights and we will, as an industry, achieve the revival of our companies and demonstrate that the meetings and events industry is more alive than ever and committed to its economic reactivation,” says David Hidalgo, Event Director.
