The Community of Madrid, the City Council and IFEMA MADRID have created a platform to promote tourism in the region internationally. This agreement gives IFEMA Madrid a highly active role in promoting Madrid as a tourist destination abroad, which will enable it to launch a new business model within its internationalisation, digitisation and innovation strategy.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, has described this project as "the most ambitious undertaking for tourism in Madrid in the last decade". "Madrid Turismo by IFEMA is one more step towards making Madrid a reference for Hispanic people in Europe and around the world ", she added. To develop it, the Community of Madrid and the City Council will invest a total of 36 million euros over 3 years, in which IFEMA MADRID will conduct tourism activities, both within the framework of its fairs and events, as well as other undertakings under this agreement.
"We have committed ourselves to establishing a framework of action that favours collaboration between administrations and the private sector, enabling strategic planning supported by a Round Table of Tourism Experts in Madrid", said José Vicente de los Mozos, president of the Executive Committee of IFEMA Madrid.www.ifema.es/en/press-room/agreement-among-the-madrid-institutions
