Portfolio evolves with in- and divestment

Informa is calibrating its portfolio: The international B2B Markets, Knowledge Services and Business Intelligence Group states it wants to expand the academic and events businesses. Stephen A. Carter, group chief executive, Informa PLC, said: "We are announcing Informa's growth and acceleration plan for the next three years, which commits the group to faster growth and increased investment in the two markets where we have leading brands and leadership positions of scale: academic markets and B2B markets."


Part of this strategy is the process of divesting in Informa Intelligence to provide funds to strengthen the position in these markets. "By concentrating on these growth markets, we will expand our academic and events businesses at pace through focused investment, accelerated digital growth and targeted acquisitions", Carter states.

Moreover, Informa Connect is introducing a new app for attendees of its physical events worldwide. The ConnectMe app uses digital technology to enhance the experience of attending in-person events. Plus, through gamification, app users collect points that convert into the planting of new mangroves under Million Mangroves, an established and fully validated project that supports positive climate action.

Informa Connect uses the ConnectMe events platform, from hybrid events technology provider Totem. Informa has taken a stake in Totem, which has an integrated portfolio of digital event solutions aimed at reimagining the events landscape during its current period of rapid evolution.
