Michael Duck is UFI's next president, taking up office at the end of the Global Congress in Muscat/Sultanate of Oman (November 14 to 17). He is joined in UFI's new presidential leadership trio by Geoff Dickinson (CEO, dmg Events) as incoming president, and Monica Lee-Müller (managing director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), Hong Kong) as outgoing president. Michael Duck is executive vice president, commercial development, of Informa Markets and Informa Plc. He joined the business in 1994 in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Trade Fair Group, and has worked in various leadership roles, focused on building up the company's presence in the Asia region, especially in China and India, and expanding events into the Middle East and Africa. He founded and chaired the Asia, Middle East and Africa and also the Sustainability chapter for UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry), before also spending 10 years overseeing the Cruise and Beauty verticals in the United States. Most recently, Duck has overseen Sinoexpo in China, and the Informa Markets Leather, Food, Beauty and Maritime portfolios in Asia. Michael was UFI treasurer for 20 years, he has also been an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) for over twenty-five years and was chairman from 1998 to 2000A committed Rotarian for the past twenty years serving the Rotary Club of Hong Kong, Michael has been involved in CSR for a long time.
