Mariska Kesteloo, founder of Word of MICE, entrepreneur, author and international speaker, has started her third journey with her camper and cat. After Poland and Slovenia, she will travel to the South of France. During her journey as a digital event nomad, she will write stories and share her adventures.

Mariska is passionate about B2B influencer marketing and informs, inspires and guides destinations and other suppliers from the meetings and events industry about this topic. She will travel to the Provence and the Côte d’Azur where she will visit Cannes, Mandelieu and Nice. In February she became “MICE ambassador” of this region.


“I am so grateful to work with a client who understands the power and impact of B2B influencer marketing and to have the freedom and share my experiences and adventures why these regions are perfect for MICE. It’s a co-creation,” Mariska Kesteloo says. She will write about the Cote d'Azur, in particular about Cannes, Mandelieu and Nice and discover what these cities offer for business events. Mariska will attend events and share her experiences from an event planner point of view. More than that, she will host her own event in Cannes on the island of Saint-Honorat during her journey.

“A lot of young people love and admire the work of influencers.,” Mariska adds and wants to inspire the young generation to work in the events industry and become influencers. She knows that the younger generation has another way of doing their research to work with suppliers. Mariska: “We, as an industry must adapt and make sure that we are present online and sharing the story about our company online and offline.”

It’s not just an online campaign

The collaboration isn’t only an online campaign, it’s a mix of online and offline activities. For Mariska that’s the power of B2B influencer marketing. The trade show IMEX is part of the collaboration. “We are preparing with Atout France, Linkeus and the partners for IMEX, to see how we can capture the attention of the visitors.” explains Mariska.

The founder of Word of MICE has followers from the MICE industry and beyond. Mariska: “Some people never comment on my stories, but when I meet them in person, they mention detailed information from my blogs. It’s heartwarming to have such a group of loyal followers. And even if they are not all event planners, they can become event planners or at least inspire them about the destination to go on holidays. Never underestimate what a blog post can achieve.”
