Sabine Scharrer named show director of Techtextil and Texprocess

Sabine Scharrer will take over as show director of the leading fairs for technical textiles and nonwovens and for the processing of textiles and flexible materials, Techtextil and Texprocess, at Messe Frankfurt on January 1, 2023. She succeeds Michael Jänecke, who is retiring.

Scharrer has been working for Messe Frankfurt since 1996, among other tasks, for the technical trade fairs abroad and in the management of consumer goods fairs, including Ambiente. Since 2016, she has been responsible for the home textiles segment of Heimtextil. In this post, she has been particularly successful in developing the fair's offers for interior architects and interior designers and setting up the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Library. Moreover, she focused on improving the integration of the upstream segments of textile technology and fibres and yarns into Heimtextil.In her new role as director of Techtextil and Texprocess, she aims to continue the internationalisation of the two leading fairs in cooperation with industry partners and also boost the worldwide synergies of Messe Frankfurt’s brand events in the field of technical textiles and textile technology.
