Qatar is to become the fastest growing travel destination in the Middle East. To help make this happen, the key stakeholders have their sights set on world championships and trade fairs. The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) and Qatar Tourism have announced plans to join forces to develop and host the new Qatar Geneva International Motor Show in Doha.

During a press conference held at Doha Exhibition & Convention Center (DECC), the partners hinted at plans to develop the new platform into an all-important event for exhibitors and car lovers from all over the world and position themselves in the Middle East. In 2022, exhibitors and visitors will have both the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) on February 19 to 27 and the new format to look forward to.

The first edition of the Qatar Geneva International Motor Show is planned for autumn 2022 or 2023. The final dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks. The event is scheduled to take place every two years. The concept developed for the show in Doha will be presented at GIMS 2022 in Geneva.
