“Future ready” is the motto of European Business Events Forum by MPI – Meeting Professionals International on 30 May 2022 from 14:00-17:30hrs at Messe Frankfurt, just prior to IMEX.

“Future ready” has earned its title as the buzz phrase for 2022, in all sectors, not just the events space. How do we ensure that our industry’s workers are prepared with the skills they need to excel not just today but tomorrow – and beyond? What isn’t being discussed is how businesses can ensure that they are future ready, especially given critical challenges including the ongoing pandemic, political events, a talent shortage and more. MPI – Meeting Professionals International has planned three conversations for the European Business Events Forum. There will be no speakers perse, as much as there will be facilitated discussions:

Successful Navigation: Current Conditions & Future Trends

Join this discussion of current industry and sector trends and how those trends are impacting business. From the war in Ukraine to travel resistance to pandemic protocols, what are some of the world events and practices that are impacting the design and delivery of meaningful experiences, how is the industry addressing these and, alternatively, how should we be reacting to ensure continuity of business, excellence of experience and positive outcomes and change.

A New Value Proposition: The Future of Event Design

What will drive people of all ages to attend an event, what is the new purpose of in-person experiences that are valuable and meaningful and matter for participants and the businesses that host them. So much has changed in the past two years, and now much of what was accomplished onsite at in-person experiences can be accomplished in digital environments. Assuming this is the case, what is the new value proposition for in-person experiences, and what interventions should meeting professionals ensure they consider for delivering on experience for all of their stakeholders?

A Meaningful Vocation: Valuable & Welcoming Work

Following a mass exodus of skilled workers, meeting organisations are finding it hard to reengage professionals who have sought fulfilling work in other industries and are struggling to attract younger workers to enter the field. What do the workers of tomorrow want and need? MPI brings industry’s young leaders to a tell-all conversation about what makes a workplace attractive and a job unleavable.
„MPI alongside our leaders on the European Advisory Council are keen to create a space for regional connections on issues and challenges specific to local professionals.“
Jessie States, Vice President, MPI Academy

"The meeting and event marketplace continues to evolve globally, and MPI alongside our leaders on the European Advisory Council are keen to create a space for regional connections on issues and challenges specific to local professionals," said Jessie States, Vice President, MPI Academy. She added: "The council identified several themes for critical conversations – such as the current and near-future business environment, changes in the design and delivery of meaningful experiences and workforce development and the career of meetings – and MPI is honored to provide the space and place for these discussions to occur."
