International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, is strengthening its commitment to training and developing its events professionals as three of the venue's star candidates progress through to the second year of the Venue Management Association's (VMA) School.

ICC Sydney CEO and group director for convention centres, ASM Global (APAC), Geoff Donaghy said that he is proud of the large contingent of representatives that have worked their way through the Venue Management School (VMS) to date. "With five alumni among the ranks of our culinary, audio visual and event services teams at ICC Sydney, and three more represented in the current cohort including our manager for business development and partnerships, Hera Yaghlejian, assistant manager for interface - FM services, Claire Field, and senior audio visual project manager, Anthony Chin, ICC Sydney offers event organisers access to well-informed, professional support when delivering their world class events", Mr Donaghy said.

Designed for major venue operators in the Asia Pacific region, the rigorous two-year Venue Management School, now in its thirtieth year, was developed to upgrade skills and knowledge and establish lifelong connections - all facilitated through venue industry recognised instructors. With a direct link to leaders in the venue management sector, participants not only learn the theory of operational methodologies, but the full breadth of managing a major venue – from marketing, sales, event management, finance, logistics and legal considerations – the course covers it all.
